“Andecian” Artist-led Projects
「Andecian」は、画家の宮内博史によるプロジェクトです。国内外でのプロジェクト参加や、小さな実験を繰り返した経験を頼りに始めました。「街の中に、有機的で立体的な建物という絵を描く」という感覚で、地域の空き家をDIYで改修してアートスペースを作っています。改修作業はあらかじめ設計図を描くのではなく、非効率でもその場の手触りを頼りに、素材との試行錯誤を繰り返して作ります。現在は、千葉県銚子市で「Gallery Andecian」と「art space ロクの家」を運営しています。2つの物件は徒歩15分圏内にありながら、それぞれの立地や建物の個性の違いを活かした展覧会を開催しています。ただの展示スペースではなく、人の心や街の風通しをよくする場であれたらと願っています。背伸びしすぎず、持続可能なペースで活動を続けており、今後は新潟県佐渡市にも新たな拠点を展開予定です。
“Andecian” is a project by artist Hirofumi Miyauchi. Drawing on experience gained through participating in projects both domestically and internationally, as well as repeated small-scale experiments, it began with the concept of “painting organic, three-dimensional buildings within the city.” We renovate vacant houses in the area through DIY efforts to create art spaces. The renovation process does not rely on pre-drawn blueprints; instead, we proceed inefficiently, trusting the tactile feel of the moment and repeatedly experimenting with materials. Currently, Andecian operates “Gallery Andecian” and “art space 6house(Roku no Ie)” in Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture. Though both spaces are within a 15-minute walk of each other, exhibitions are curated to highlight the distinct characteristics of each location and building. The hope is that these spaces will be more than just exhibition venues; they aspire to be places that open hearts and improve the flow of energy within the city. We continue our activities at a sustainable pace, without overextending ourselves, and plan to establish a new base in Sado City, Niigata Prefecture in the future.

銚子駅前のアートギャラリー「Andecian」は、2022年にオープンしました。芸術を愛した亡きオーナーのご遺言により、「貸さない、売らない」とされている場所を特別にお借りしています。手の気配と静かに向き合うための、街の中心の聖域でありたいと願っています。
The art gallery “Andecian” near Choshi Station opened in 2022. We have specially borrowed this space, which is designated “not for rent or sale” according to the will of the late landlord who loved art. We aspire for it to be a sanctuary in the heart of the city, a place to quietly engage with the traces of human touch.

2020年にオープンしたアートスペース「ロクの家」は、利根川沿いの奥まった立地にあります。築60年程の元旅館の物件であり、ギャラリースペースと40m²のアトリエ、住居空間を備えているため、レジデンスの受け入れも可能です。コロナ禍でも、陰の気配を活かした「夜のギャラリー」など活発に活動していましたが、宮内の作品制作に支障が出たためペースを抑えて活動しています。
The art space “6house(Roku no Ie),” opened in 2020, is tucked away along the Tone River. Housed in a former inn built about 60 years ago, it features a gallery space, a 40m² studio, and living quarters, making it suitable for artist residencies. Even during the pandemic, it remained active with initiatives like the “Night Gallery,” which utilized the space’s atmospheric ambiance. However, due to disruptions to Miyauchi’s artistic practice, activities have since slowed.
